What are our roles at the national level?

Civil Society Representative in Cross-Sector Collaboration

The field of anti-trafficking is multidisciplinary, and cross-sector collaboration is essential in combating human trafficking. eLiberare actively partners with numerous entities across government, legislative, law enforcement, and civil society sectors to support advocacy efforts.

Co-founder of the ProTECT Platform

ProTECT is a collaborative platform for organizations specializing in prevention, protection, victim assistance, criminal and civil procedures, lobbying, and advocacy to achieve greater impact in the fight against human trafficking. Since 2020, eLiberare has held the presidency and secretariat of the ProTECT Platform.

The Sexual Consent Law

eLiberare actively participated in public consultations and contributed to the drafting of amendments to legislation regarding the age of sexual consent, which came into effect on January 1, 2024.

The National Identification and Referral Mechanism for Human Trafficking Cases (NIRM)

Officially approved by Government Decision in February 2023, eLiberare, alongside other ProTECT member organizations and public institutions, worked together to update the National Identification and Referral Mechanism (NIRM).

Creation of Guides for Professional Categories for NIRM Implementation

In collaboration with ANITP and IOM, eLiberare created customized guides based on the NIRM for various professional categories and for the general public.

Participation in the Development of the National Strategy Against Human Trafficking (SNITP)

eLiberare was part of the three Working Groups following the 3P model (Prevention, Protection, Prosecution) that prepared the draft of the National Strategy Against Human Trafficking 2024-2028. The document is set to be adopted and published in 2024.

What are our roles on international level?

eLiberare regularly participates in meetings and working groups within the Government, Parliament, and international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, UNHCR, and IOM on the topic of preventing and combating human trafficking. Additionally, eLiberare consistently contributes to legislative efforts and public policy development at the European Union and international levels, being a member of working groups within OSCE, WeProtect Alliance, Brussels Call, ECLAG, and ECOSOC.
