eLiberare and Justice & Care co-founded ProTECT, a network of 23 non-governmental organizations specialized in the fight against human trafficking in Romania. ProTECT is a resource center for its members but also for other entities with similar purposes so that they collaborate effectively in prevention, protection, victim assistance, criminal and civil proceedings, lobbying and advocacy for initiatives with a greater impact in the fight against trafficking in human beings.

LOGS Association is a “grass-roots” organization established in the western part of Romania, which promotes the integration of vulnerable groups of migrants, fights against human trafficking and uses education as a means of overcoming social vulnerabilities. The members of the organization are professionals, trainers and refugees and migrants settled in Romania.
LOGS was founded in 2019, after years of volunteer work by the founding members who are from Timiș and Arad counties. The group’s initiatives are closely related to the expertise of the founding members: social and psychological counseling, migration, education and training, prevention of human trafficking and social studies. In September 2020, the group was formally created as LOGS Association – Group of Social Initiatives, with headquarters in Giarmata, Timis county.
The mission of LOGS is to actively participate in the development of urban and rural communities in Romania in order to support the identification, response and overcoming of the specific needs of refugees and migrants, with the help of the involvement of the local community and volunteers by organizing social, intercultural and educational projects.
In 2020 they assisted more than 1200 refugees and asylum seekers with emergency packages (food, medicine and clothing). More than 300 minor students took part in human trafficking prevention activities, of which 31 came from state centers. They provided long-term psychotherapy to 7 minor victims of human trafficking referred by partner organizations. LOGS participated in training sessions with over 25 foster parents in partnership with ANITP and DGASPC Timiș. LOGS specifically works on community development in Giarmata, a community near Timisoara, which faces many challenges of a disadvantaged community, including human trafficking.

We are active in prevention programs (vulnerable and at-risk groups), education and training (for awareness, empowerment and training of specialists or other workers who can detect possible victims of human trafficking, as well as for assisting and working directly with possible victims), and aftercare (direct assistance) for victims of human trafficking. The approach is holistic and integrative – social assistance services – including support for repatriation, medical, residential, including accommodation, educational, professional, vocational and legal (including assistance and representation in court, as well as in the phases following the existence of the criminal sentence, putting in execution of the sentence). Within this service, any categories of people are supported – men/women, adults/minors regardless of the form of traffic, the country of operation. More than 300 officially identified victims and survivors of human trafficking have been supported over time.
In addition to this service, PtP is active in the field of community development through education -developing numerous formal and informal education programs in vulnerable areas and communities (such as the ProRroma Tinca School, an authorized social private school) – where more than 200 kindergarten children are formally educated, primary education and “Second Chance” type programs. Formal education programs are complemented by informal and remedial youth education, skills development programs, parenting education, local leadership development.
