It’s been a busy few weeks for us here at eLiberare.
We’ve been working towards starting a legal association here in Romania. The process has been a bit more difficult than we expected. One of the biggest hurdles has been finding a legal address that we could use as our “sediu social.” This address is the official legal location where your organization or business resides. For safety concerns we didn’t want to use our apartment. Also, in order to use an apartment as a sediu social, you must get the approval of the owner, all the neighbors, and even the building manager. The owner of our apartment doesn’t even live in Romania so having him come and give approval would have been impossible.
Luckily, we found a great office location. It’s a room just over 250 sq. ft. which is perfect for our small team. The rent is quite a bit below market which is a HUGE blessings for us. We have moved everything into the offices and it’s been a very productive week for us.
Our lawyers have been a huge help walking us through the process of starting an association. Last week we met with them and signed all the necessary papers and even opened our temporary bank account. The paperwork has been handed into the judge for approval. So, now we just wait.
So, six months after starting the process… we’re on the final step. I’ll be sure to let you know once we are completely official!
