Last week we hosted a small time of prayer for the issue of human trafficking in Romania. The evening was called “Prayers for Freedom” or “Rugăciune pentru libertate” in Romanian.

We didn’t have any big plans for the night. We just wanted to provide a gathering for people from the local faith community around Bucharest to engage in the issue of human trafficking.

After kicking things off with a quick 10 minute introduction about human trafficking in Europe and specifically Romania we had a few songs of worship. The time of prayer was broken up into 6 main sections which are listed below…

  • strength
  • healing, hope and restoration
  • protection
  • salvation

The Shelters

  • Open Door – București
  • Adpare – București
  • Generatie Tanara – Timișoara

The Government

  • a just legislation

Romanian Families

  • increased awareness of human trafficking
  • neighbors taking care of each other
  • more opportunities for employment
