Last week we hosted a small time of prayer for the issue of human trafficking in Romania. The evening was called “Prayers for Freedom” or “Rugăciune pentru libertate” in Romanian.
We didn’t have any big plans for the night. We just wanted to provide a gathering for people from the local faith community around Bucharest to engage in the issue of human trafficking.
After kicking things off with a quick 10 minute introduction about human trafficking in Europe and specifically Romania we had a few songs of worship. The time of prayer was broken up into 6 main sections which are listed below…
The Victims

The Government
- those in leadership positions & making decisions
- corruption would decrease
- a just legislation
Romanian Families
- increased awareness of human trafficking
- neighbors taking care of each other
- more opportunities for employment
The Traffickers
- repentance

- arrested & prosecuted
The Church
- unity among people and denominations
- take care of those in need in our communities
- respond and take action to social justice
