Inspiring Freedom

⎯ SINCE 2013 ⎯

This week, a part of the eLiberare team went to Nicolae Kretzulescu High School in Bucharest to talk to the students about human trafficking prevention. The students took part in sessions about human trafficking, leadership, efficient communication and trainings about implementing anti-traffic projects and activities.

They watched Nefarious, a movie filled with stories about survivors and real problems the human trafficking victims from Eastern Europe, Asia and North America have. The discussions that followed were interesting, addressing the gravity of the phenomenon, ways in which victims are being trafficked, successful and failed attempts of rescuing them.

At the end of the week, students were asked to apply what they learned in their own human trafficking prevention activities. Their creativity and desire to get involved in this issue were beyond expectation.

They outlined an anti-traffic website, a video for survivors of human trafficking and a presentation about the loverboy method. They were eager to use these materials and teach their fellow classmates about human trafficking prevention.

Congratulations to the students of Nicolae Kretzulescu High School!
