Cristi Parciu is a 17 year old from Bucharest. A few months ago he enlisted in the Freedom Fighters Academy held by eLiberare and decided to show what he feels about human trafficking using photography.
Why photography?
“I can say that I was drawn to photography more than any other media form. I like that I can send a message than touches hearts and I can fight for the problems my country has through a single photograph.
I can love nature, people and my country in a different way, using photography.”
What is the message that is sent across by your photos?
“It was pretty hard to chose a single message, because I had many ideas.
I wanted to emphasize the different kinds of abuse that can be found in human trafficking. I want to show the world that this problem is a grave one in Romania and it shows the evil part of people and how easily can a person’s freedom be taken away. These photographs are a cry for help, a help that only we can offer.”
Do you plan on continuing this series?
“Yes, I plan on continuing the series, even though it will be hard. I want to spread this message, to take it across because every victim needs help. They have a silent cry and we can become their voice.”
We wish Cristi best of luck and we’re glad to see him contributing to the end of human trafficking, by using his talents!
