Human trafficking is modern day slavery, where people take advantage of other people by controlling and exploiting them, while the victims are hidden in plain sight.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Romania is a country that lost millions of people due to the promise of a better life abroad, many of them ending up as victims. Dreaming of a better life became a vulnerability in front of human traffickers so Romania became the primary source country for victims of trafficking in Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The small number of human trafficking cases reported and identified in Romania compared to the <\/span>situation estimated by international<\/span> organizations is a multi-cause problem.<\/span><\/p>\n
